Water Sanitation and Health

Life on Earth is dependent on water, yet nearly 800 million people lack access to clean water and about 2.5 billion people lack access to modern sanitation facilities.

emerge poverty free has helped address this global issue by establishing sustainable water sources and means of sanitation.

When a community has access to a safe water and sanitation the benefits are widespread. Three million people die from waterborne disease each year in developing countries, however, the benefits expand far past health. Girls in communities without safe water and washrooms often drop out of school upon reaching puberty, and many children miss school because they travel long distances each day to retrieve clean water. Clean sources of accessible water improve health and school enrollment and increase productivity within the community.
